How does billing work?

You will continue to receive a bill from your utility. Your bill will reflect charges for both the supply and the delivery of your electricity. You will continue to pay the utility for your monthly electric bill, but since you chose clean and green energy with Mpower Energy, the supply portion of the bill will now be from Mpower! The delivery portion of the bill is still credited to the utility.

Are there contracts with Mpower Energy?

📝 For residential customers, we offer contracts – but don’t worry! If you change your mind, you can opt out at any time with no additional fees!

What are the term lengths?

Depending on your location, our terms can differ. If you would like to know more about your specific area, you can always reach out to us!

It could be as soon as a couple of weeks, but depending on your utility and your billing cycle, it could take between 1-2 months.

What happens if I move to a new address or I want to cancel the service?

If you are moving or would like to cancel your service, just give our customer service team a call! We are happy to help you make the process as easy as possible.

Who do I call if I lose power at my house or business?

For this you would still call your local utility; they are responsible for the delivery of electricity to your house. You can find their toll-free number on the top of your Mpower Energy electric bill.

Whats your business hours?

Our normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM EST.

What is the difference between the supply and delivery portion of your bill?

The supply portion consists of your usage multiplied by your rate per kilowatt or therm; It’s the portion we replace once you enroll with our service. The delivery charge consists of the utility ensuring you receive the energy to your household. This also includes charges for basic system infrastructure, meter reading and meter maintenance.

Whom should I contact regarding the delivery charges?

Any questions pertaining to the delivery charge should be asked to your utility provider.

Can I contact the person who signed me up directly?

Although they are reachable, due to their hectic working schedules, we would prefer you contact our customer service line. We have reps ready to address any of your concerns. You can call us at (877) 286-7693.

Why am I being charged for the same services twice?

You are not being charged twice, in fact, you have always been charged for two different portions on your bill. Those portions consist of your delivery and supply charge.

Do you accept payment?

No, all payments are handled by the main utility, as they always have been.

Whom should I contact regarding payment plans, budget plans and payment inquiries?

All inquiries should be addressed with your utility company.

What should I do if I keep getting estimated bills?

We do understand how inconvenient estimated bills can be, and although we would love to help with that inquiry, you will need to contact your main utility provider to further discuss why you are receiving estimated bills.

How can I avoid getting estimated bills?

Being available whenever the agent is set to come and read your meter and ensuring that your super/landlord gives them access.

Do you refund for the estimated bills?

Your utility company will issue you an adjusted bill with the correct reading information. If you were overcharged, you will be provided with a credit into your account.

How long will it take for a cancellation to be processed?

Depending on your utility, this can take anywhere between one to two billing cycles.

Do you have bilingual representatives?

We currently have Spanish and English speaking representatives.

I thought Mpower Energy only sold clean and renewable energy; so why are you selling natural gas?

Many homes are still heated by natural gas so we don’t want to leave any of our customers in the cold. However, natural gas is much cleaner than burning coal. It actually puts out less than 50% of the carbon dioxide than coal. As for our electricity, we provide 100% clean and renewable energy that is generated from sources such as wind, solar, and water.
