Are rechargeable batteries better for the environment (and your wallet)?
The simple answer to this is Yes! Most batteries (including rechargeable’s) release harmful materials into the environment when discarded. The good news is that rechargeable batteries can be used for a much longer time and are pretty easy to recycle. Rechargeable batteries will also save you much more money than buying disposable’s.
Environmental tip: Recycle your rechargeable (or disposable) batteries after use. Just do a Google search for “battery recycling” + your city, to find the nearest recycling center. Or visit Earthworks to recycle cell phone and all other batteries (at no cost).
